Specializing in asset disposition for middle market companies, Thomas Pabst has a consistent history of increasing productivity and profits for manufacturers, distribution companies and retailers. With over 25 years of experience, Tom uses a unique combination of investigative, analytic planning and team building skills which have been proven very effective in identifying profit opportunities and driving their achievement for stakeholders.

 

Tom partners directly with company owners and other stakeholders, and/or he is often referred to his clients by respected reconstructing advisers, attorneys, assignees, receivers, investment bankers, private equity firms and other intermediaries throughout the turnaround and workout industry.

 

Special Asset Disposition experience includes: Consumer electronics, technology, branded consumer goods, retailers, fixtures, machinery and real estate. 

 

Tom has held various c-level positions such as Chief Operating Officer for Great American Group, Inc. (OTCBb: GAMR), a provider of asset disposition, valuation and appraisal services in the U.S. Previously, Tom was the Chief Financial Officer to JG Industries, Inc. (NASDQ), a holding company of five retail chains.

 

Tom is a Certified Public Accountant (since 1980 - Illinois) and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Illinois. He is a Past President of the Turnaround Management Association, Chicago/ Midwest Chapter and has been a member since 1995. He is also a member of the International Board of Directors of this same organization.

 

Throughout Tom's career, he has sourced, negotiated and executed a variety of liquidation projects crossing many industries. Tom frequently integrated joint venture partners, with divergent expertise in asset classes and operational capabilities, which allowed for creative structuring of transactions. As a result, he has coordinated some of the largest and most complex transactions in the asset disposition industry, including Tower Records, Midas International, Collins and Aikman and Quality Stores.
